Wild Nature in the Altai Ridge
The Altai mountain range stretches from southern Siberia, across Kazakhstan and China, to the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. We climbed to the foot of mount Belukha, in the Golden Mountains of Siberia, and hiked the Altai trek in Western Mongolia. We exchanged smiles with the Altaians in Siberia and with the Kazakhs in Mongolia, admired the glaciers, lakes, rivers and spectacular autumn foliage. I trekked in the Altai ridge in August and September 2014.
