Dramatic landscapes in Eilat Mountains
The geology of Eilat Mountains combines igneous and metamorphic rocks. Rocks that rose due to the Syro-African Depression, and sandstone and limestone created in the interminable process of erosion, transfer, sedimentation and hardening. The different layer directions and twisted corrugations make you dizzy. The strong colors, from light brown, through the yellows, reds to black, offer a feast to the eyes. The photographs were taken during several treks in Eilat Mountains, the most recent one in January 2010.
