Shapes and color in Rajef Mountains
South-west of Petra, in the Edom Mountains, there rise the relict mountains of Rajef. Named after the village lying on the slopes to its east, this rough terrain abounds with unique structures and unimaginable sandstone colors. We wandered through a maze of white sandstone domes, climbed up some of them, descended into hidden crevices and freshened-up in clear springs. I trekked in the Rajef Mountains in April 2010 and April 2017.
