The magical desert of Wadi Rum
Huge mountains of sandstone and granite, shaped by the water and wind, emerge from soft and colorful sandy valleys, and create noble beauty. The desert of Wadi Rum is a protected area in southwest Jordan. I am perpetually attracted to this hypnotizing location to trek, climb, rappel (abseil), and enjoy the warm hospitality and lodging in the Bedouin tents. The photographs were taken on several trips, the most recent one in March 2009.
