Among the mighty Andes of Peru
What struck me most in Peru is its people! The Peruvians are very friendly; they dress distinctively in different areas, and always in vivid color. The best way to appreciate the Andes is via intimate trekking...and so I did! I was circling the Cordillera Huayhuash for twelve days, and it was among the best treks that I've experienced so far. Other highlights were treks in the Cordillera Blanca, the unsurpassed Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, and the oasis of Colca Canyon. I Traveled in Peru in the months of August and September 2008.
