The amazing colors of Edom Mountains
Together with the Bedouins who live in Humeima and their camels, we descended through Wadi Aheimir, an ancient route which crosses Edom Mountains from Humeima (ancient Hawara) to Gharandal in the Arabah Valley. We sneaked through enormous granite cliffs, crossed the vast dunes of Wadi er Raqiya, and marveled at the sandstone with its amazing shapes and colors in the Rainbow Canyon of Wadi Qseib. I hiked this route three times, in November 2006, in January 2011, and in April 2018.
